Welcome to The Arc Mid-Hudson School and Preschool
The Arc Mid-Hudson offers Parkside Preschool in Putnam County and Brookside School in Ulster County.
Parkside Preschool
Parkside Preschool is a private, not-for-profit, New York State Department of Education approved school for children ages three- to five-years with special needs. Parkside Preschool provides center-based and community-based services to families residing in Putnam and Westchester counties. In our center-based program, our school’s primary focus is to serve children with severe communication or learning difficulties and autism spectrum disorders. Our community-based integrated classrooms are offered at the same site, in collaboration with the Pine Grove Country Day School of Mahopac.
Referrals to the program is made by your local school district’s Committee on Preschool Special Education.
Brookside School
The Brookside School offers a regionally unique community preschool that serves children with and without special needs. Your child will participate in an integrated program that serves as a Rondout Valley Central School District Universal Pre-Kindergarten site, features a preschool special education program and is a private-pay option for parents who simply wish to send their child to a top-notch preschool.
Open to all 3 or 4 year old children, The Brookside School offers an individualized curriculum to address the needs of all students while also providing an inclusionary experience through field trips, holiday celebrations and performances for each other and families. If your child requires special services, we can accommodate them. We offer speech and language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, parent counseling and training, nursing services, assistive technology services, 1:1 teacher aide and vision services based on your child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). If your child has multiple disabilities, Brookside can also provide special education through age 21.
At The Brookside School, every child is supported, loved and accepted into an environment where they are provided with rich opportunities to learn and grow.
