Help Us Raise $150,000 to Build a New Adaptable Playground

To fulfill our mission “To empower people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to achieve and experience the highest quality of life,” The Arc Mid-Hudson is committed to the people we support by providing services that are accessible to meet their needs. This could not happen without the financial support of our friends and benefactors – we are grateful for your support.

The Arc Mid-Hudson’s goal is to raise $150,000 to build a new adaptable playground at Brookside School. The Brookside School is a regionally unique community preschool have served children with and without special needs for over 30 years.

The new adaptable playground will incorporate specific accessible features and equipment that will include ground-level and elevated components, ramps, transfer points, and multi-sensory play opportunities. This inclusive playground design provides the opportunity for children of varying abilities to fully participate and contribute to meaningful play, reaping the lifelong developmental, physical, and social benefits of inclusion – everyone experiences the feeling that they belong.
