The Arc Mid-Hudson is committed to comply with the rules and regulations of federal, state and local government, and to provide a work environment where high standards of ethical and legal behavior are recognized and practiced.  As Medicaid providers, we are subject to the federal and state laws that govern this program. Our Corporate Compliance Program was created to assist the organization in complying with government compliance standards, and detecting fraud, waste and abuse so that appropriate measures may be taken.  It includes several elements, including information about the False Claims Act, the importance and expectation of reporting compliance concerns.  Our Code of Conduct provides guidance regarding ethical and compliance expectations for employee conduct.   Please see the attached documents related to False Claims Act, Code of Conduct and Reporting Compliance Concerns Whistleblower and Anti-Retaliation for more information about our Compliance Program.

HIPAA Compliance

The Arc Mid-Hudson is required to comply with confidentiality regulations, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy and Security regulations. This is ensured through a system of checks and balances relating to documentation, security of records (physical and electronic), and information sharing practices. Incident Management

Any and all events classified as an allegation of abuse/neglect, significant incident, notable occurrence and/or exploitation shall be reported and investigated in accordance with New York State Law, and guidance issued by the Justice Center. The Arc Mid-Hudson is committed to reviewing, correcting and/or monitoring certain events or situations in order to enhance the quality of care provided to the people we support to protect them (to the extent possible) from harm and to ensure that such persons are free from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
