Is your son or daughter affected by an intellectual or developmental disability such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome or Traumatic Brain Injury? Are they between the ages of 16 and 24?
- Is your child currently in school or have they recently graduated? Would you like to talk with other parents who have watched their children mature into “adulthood”?
- Would your son or daughter like to have fun for the night? While parents chat, young people hang out, play games and make friendships in a supervised environment.
- Would you like to hear from industry professionals about navigating through the maze of Human Service Providers or how to effectively advocate for your loved one?
The Family Collaborative was formed by parents, for parents! Parenting is not easy and for those who have a child affected by a developmental disability, it is even more challenging. Take part in this group. Build a network of knowledge and support. Young people are encouraged to attend! Fun activities are planned while the parents are meeting (Young adults aged 16 years and older are preferred).
The Family Collaborative is partially funded by the United Way of Ulster County.
