Corporate Giving

Corporate philanthropy is an important part of a company’s structure, and it actually affects a business’s bottom line. According to Entrepreneur magazine, 89% of Millenials are more likely to buy from a socially responsible company. This generation is currently responsible for spending $170 billion annually and by 2020 they will make up 30% of all retail purchases. Customers take notice when a business becomes involved with a local non-profit. In addition, 62% of businesses say giving back makes their companies more successful in the long run.

There are many ways to participate in charitable giving, and below are some suggestions and opportunities for your business to support us throughout the year.

Matching Gifts

Matching gifts provide a great incentive for your employees to contribute to charity. With this program, your company would offer to match an employee’s donation, usually dollar for dollar. Most companies use a $25 minimum for matching donations and some also create a maximum match. More than 60% of Fortune 500 companies (as well as many others) offer a matching gift program for their employees.

For more information about matching gifts, please contact Erica Graffia, Staff Accountant at (845) 331-4300 ext. 257.

Volunteer Grant

As a company you can donate to a charity based on the number of hours an employee volunteers. Businesses either set a dollar amount per hour that an employee volunteers or donate a fixed amount based on a certain number of hours volunteered.

For more information about volunteering at The Arc Mid-Hudson, please contact Tammy Paquette, Recruitment Manager at (845) 331-4300 ext. 233.

Host Your Own Internal Fundraiser

Would you like to support The Arc Mid-Hudson in your workplace? We can work with you to develop a raffle among your employees, sponsor a donation drive to contribute towards one of our projects or raise money to support our mission.

For more information about matching gifts, please contact Kathy Bonelli, Regional Events Manager at (845) 331-4300 ext. 281.

Corporate Volunteer Day

Coordinating a day or two each year when your employees can volunteer for a non-profit boosts morale and camaraderie. We will work with your business to create a “Day of Giving” that provides your staff with the opportunity to give back to their local community.

Your employees can participate in various volunteer projects benefiting The Mid-Hudson. Previous projects have included landscaping work at our residences and day program facilities, visiting with elderly people that we support and painting projects within our facilities.

For more information about creating a Corporate Volunteer Day, please contact Lori McCabe, Senior Director of Communications & Development at (845) 331-4300 ext. 228.

Grant Opportunities

If your company provides grants for non-profits, we would like to hear from you. Please let us know what opportunities are available within your business and we will work together to determine how your grant can greatly contribute to our mission.

For more information about how The Arc of Ulster-Greene can benefit by a grant, please contact Lori McCabe, Senior Director of Communications & Development at (845) 331-4300 ext. 228.
